If it is TRULY uncirculated, it probably sold for a good $70 in1980 although it could have gone higher. Even uncirculated coins sometimes have visual differences.

I bought a 1884 Morgan dollar at a coin shop in Carson City while I was there on a trip in August, 1980! It had the CC mint mark and the uniqueness of it appealed to me. I gave it to my dad, who still has it. The one I bought was not uncirculated but in pretty good shape. I paid just over $20 at the time. (Mine was probably "F" or Fine Grade maybe XF, under the grading standards in those days).

Be sure to consult a current coin guide to set a reasonable minimum bid.
