Morgan silver dollars, one says “1878 reverse”. What does the reverse pertain to?
Doc asked:
It supposedly adds to the value of the coin. But in examining it, I can't find whats reversed.

I'm sorry, but I can't seem to find an apropos category

Look at the mint mark.
As I recall from my youth, “reverse” refers to the side of the coin opposite the head, the “back” of the coin, so I would think that “1878 reverse” means 1878 printed on the back of the coin. The opposite of reverse is “obverse”, the side of the coin with the face or head or figure on it.
