It’s value is $13.50 in grade very good to $18.00 in almost uncirculated grade. That is about what a dealer would pay. Philly silver dollars of the 1880′s were made in vast numbers and usually sat in a bank vault or the mint vaults. They are very common today, even in mint state. A well worn example at least would have a history, for that would mean it actually circulated and that had to be in the west, so maybe it bought a round at a saloon out there in Denver or Kansas City.

According to red book:
VF: $20
EF: $25
AU: $30
MS60: $45
MS63: $65
MS64: $165
MS65: $1000
Proof: $3300

That being said you should know that red book prices tend to be on the high end of the spectrum.
