Archive for Morgan Dollar FAQ
I have a Morgan silver dollar, minted in Carson City in 1884, distributed by General Services Administration in 1972.
My parents bought this piece in July 1980 and I would like to know roughly how much they paid for it then.
My ebay auction for it is here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=160182159209&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT
NO, I AM NOT TRYING TO ADVERTISE MY AUCTION! I am just including my listing to give pics of the item.
Thanks in advance.
I would like to get out of US Dollars and invest my cash into some "real money" like silver. However I do not know what is best for investment purposes.
1) Silver American Eagles .999
2) Morgan Dollar
3) Peace Dollar
Also, I hear that in times of an economic crisis, there is the possibility of bullion to be confiscated. With that in mind do you prefer the Morgan or Peace dollar?
Does anyone know how much a 1891 Morgan Silver Dollar is worth? I have one that is in excellent shape and was curious about the value. Thanks.
I have been given a set of these coins. I know nothing about old coins. I would like to know what they are worth and where I can sell them to get the most out of them. Any infor would be appreciated.
the 1925 coin has the eagle on the back, and the 1921 coin looks lke the morgan but not two toned
I don't know much about coins and I'll do my best to describe it to you.
It's a 1886 Morgan Silver Dollar. It's cased and it says PCGS on the very top and below it it says MS64.
Then below that there is a number which is 7166.64/4408753
Right below that number is the barcode. Is 7166 the value or something?
The coin has some markings. The color still looks pretty good.
why are some of the 1878 morgan silver dollars listed as 8 tail feathers or 7 tail feathers? how can you tell??
Can you tell me what the price of this coin is? I also have a 1942 Lady Liberty Half Dollar.....what are the values of these coins?
How would I find the mint mark?
I would save any old coins a came across as a kid or someone would give me. I have not even looked at them in years. I have just realized that in my collection I have a 1892 Morgan S dollar and a 1921 Morgan dollar.... mentioning this to friends I have heard that these could be worth a couple hundred dollars. Should I clean them? Take them to a collector and have them graded or whatever they call it? There in great shape but dirty. Any info would be helpful
You know that commercial about the morgan silver dollars that says they have all of the ones left in existence? Well, my grandma has like 12 of em. What do you think about this.
I have:
1 walking liberty half-dollar-1942
1 walking liberty half-dollar-1944
1 morgan dollar-1921
1 Eisenhower dollar-1971
2 franklin half-dollars-1963
please just give me AROUD the minimum price for each of these coins if I bring them to somewheres like Good ole tom's or Fast eddy's. They are all in okish condition.
A Morgan Dollar is fully toned on observe and reverse and has about 20% or less rainbow. Do you believe this coin is more valuable than a regular Morgan Dollar? (date 1885)
i dont see any mint marks or anything i took it to a local coin shop and they said it was worth 5 bucks!!! id really like to know asap. i have ok pictures if that helps anyone. thank you.
I have a massive coin collection 38,000 coins 1865-2006 many in mint state and 1,000 of these are Morgan Silver Dollars Pre-1899.
I would like to sell the collection to someone who wants a coin collection. I'm asking $47,500.00 for it. Don't want to sell to a coin dealer.
I'm selling it because, i have no one to leave it too, i have a terminal illness with about a year left before i'll be unable to travel. so want to be raise some cash but don't want to give it away to a greedy coin dealer.

I have found in my collection of coins that I have a 1886-0 Morgan Silver Dollar. I need to know where to go on the web to see what it is worth or someone who may know its value. Thanks
I found 2 rolls of 1893-s morgan silver dollars anyone know if this is a rare type coin.
They are dated 1879, 1886, & 1888. They are in very good condition and I have been told that they are only worth about $14.00, is this true or are they worth more than that? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
I have 8 of them that Im putting on ebay and I was wondeirng what people would pay for them
I took them to a coin shop and they were going to offer me $40 dollars for all of them. These are coins that I have been told were worth thousands. That is way below the value of the coins.
That shouldn't be allowed for somebody to make an offer to me like that.
You should never tell people to go to a coin shop, you alwasy should go to somebody who is a certified coin appraiser.
